Let me tell you about myself. I live in Los Angeles. I live with 3 birds; Sami a Blue-Fronted Amazon Parrot, Dixie a Blue Indian Ring Neck Parakeet and Buddy a Plum Headed Indian Ring Neck Parakeet. I grew up in a rural area in the Southeastern Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia, there was a huge woods out back of our house and I had many pets; from ducks and geese to cats and dogs to rabbits and an opossum. My father had a huge garden in the summer, we had all sorts of fruit trees in our one acre yard and my mother canned and froze many of the fruits and vegetables. All the kids on the block picked and ate fruits right off the trees all summer long. It was a great childhood, playing in the woods, climbing trees, built forts and swinging from huge vines. I was a bit of a tomboy. I love being outdoors.
I was also very idealistic growing up. I always sided with the underdog and wanted to help people when ever I could. It pained me to see anyone else suffering in anyway. I believed what people told me, I could not understand why anyone would have cause to lie to me. My mother called me gullible. As a teen, we would go to dances at the VA Hospital to cheer up the young men who had come back from the Vietnam War. Those experiences of the HORRORS of war will be ever ingrained in my life. From that point on I have stood up for PEACE.
I attended college at Anderson University in Indiana where I studied art and biology. I was a child of the 60’s, a Hippie. I loved that back then everyone had strong beliefs and was willing to stand up for what they believed in. During the winter breaks, I took field classes to Tikal, Guatemala to study the Mayan ruins and to Baja, California to observe the mating and birthing of the Grey Whales. That was the most incredible trip, camping on the beach and at night the whales breathing/spouting would echo through the valley permeating everything and I found I would start breathing in the same pattern as they did. AMAZING!
After college I joined the carnival. I began in a snake show handling snakes and reptiles, and then a Side Show and I learned to swallow swords and do many of the illusions, like the electric chair, blade box and be the barker on the front stage. I had so many strange and funny experiences during those years. It would make a great book or an even better movie. Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to that.
Then I moved back to Indiana. I worked in a state institution with children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. After two very harsh winters of blizzard after blizzard, being snowed in for a week at a time and a wind chill factor of 40 below, I moved to sunny Southern California. I worked many jobs when I first moved here and finally got a job with a small printing company where I worked for 25 years. I also, worked on a couple of films to experience the film industry. Finally the printing company closed due to the failing economy. I spent a year searching for a new job, to NO avail. After being out of work for one year I realized I did not want to go back to working a nine to five job for someone else. I had been a customer of Melaleuca for over 7 years and ABSOLUTELY LOVE their products. They are the only products I use in my home. So I began introducing others to Melaleuca and I now earn more than I did working at my previous job. Melaleuca is the BEST thing that ever happened to me!
I began researching how toxins and chemicals affect our health and the environment and what we could do to live healthier lives and help preserve this beautiful, amazing planet. All through the years I watched and participated in the environmental movement through various groups. I have seen species becoming extinct, our forests being cut down and out oceans destroyed. In 1991 I went to the United Nations Environmental Conference in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and as a side trip visited the Amazon. It was something to behold. If you have never visited a rain forest, it is a wonder you don’t want to miss experiencing. Through my studies I learned the FDA has no regulations on cleaning or laundry products. Most of these products have carcinogens, toxins and chemicals in them that tax our immune system, cause disease and destroy the environment, as do many of our bath and body products. There are over 80,000 chemicals registered in the U.S.A. and less than 14% of them have been tested for their effects on human beings. Go here to view Toxins In The
Home Study at Purdue University to find out some of the toxins you have
in your home and what effect they have on your health. I see prescription medications advertised on TV with long, long lists of side effects that way out number the benefits of the medication. I see the ice shelf melting, breaking off and Global Warming. The list goes on and on and on. I’m sure you are aware of many of these problems.
The best example for me is when I was a kid in the Pennsylvania from around Thanksgiving to April the ground was covered with 1-2 feet of snow. We made snow angels, built snow forts, made snowmen, went sledding, ice skating and had snowball fights. Now in the same area they are lucky if they have one good snow each winter, which doesn’t last very long and their temperatures through most of the winter rival the temperatures here in Southern California. WOW! What a difference. Also, when I first moved to Southern California in 1980 it would rain from mid December solidly through to February (our rainy season) and now we are lucky if it rains a few times in the winter. The climate has definitely changed in my short lifetime so far. SCAREY! I think we must do our part to improve our lives and our world NOW!!!
I feel it is my mission and I love helping people live healthier lives and revitalize their DREAMS. That is why I spend my time educating people about how we can protect our health, the environment and introduce them to “GREEN” products for the home and personal use. IT FEELS GREAT! I love having fun, laughing and enjoying each day and all life has to offer. I also love making new friends, partnering with them, being of service and helping people become financially free and enjoy the life they are living by realizing their wildest Dreams. I would love to partner with and serve you.
